Lycoming Announces 2023 Engine School Training Dates

News 08.16.22

Lycoming Engines is pleased to announce its 2022 training schedule.  The training program is now a single class, 5-day course that blends content from both prior courses, which focused on engine theory and disassembly/reassembly.  The intent of the redesign is to make it easier for individuals to attend the training in a single-week format. Cost for the course is $1,740.

TRAINING PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Lycoming Engines Service School training program includes a review of Lycoming service publications and manuals, and covers construction, theory of operation, and servicing of Lycoming reciprocating engines. Additional topics include inspection, servicing, and troubleshooting of related components. Incorporated into the program is a hands-on training component with teams working on 4-cylinder Lycoming O-360 engines, learning proper procedures for engine disassembly and reassembly.

This training program is designed to assist maintenance professionals such as pilots, aircraft owners, and experimental aircraft builders in acquiring a better understanding of their engine and systems. The 5-day, 40-hour program will consist of 4 hours of theory-based training and 4 hours of hands-on training each day. The training hours in this program can be used for qualification for the IA renewal program FAR 65.93(a) (4).
