Anytime valve springs are removed or installed 

The valve spring compressor, No. ST­25 used for all models of Lycoming engines cannot be used on the  TIO­541­E series or the TIGO­541­E series engines because of the difference in the space between the valve  rocker shaft and the  valve. Consequently, a  new valve spring compressor, No. ST­266 has been designed  especially for use  on  TIO  and  TIGO­541­E series engines and  is available  through all Lycoming  distributors
